Quote #1 page #1
“The secret goldfish”
I think that this quote is giving an example of what his brother does for work for example this quote “the secret goldfish” it was about a boy who had bought a goldfish and he was very selfish with this fish because he bought it with his own money, and it says how the main character was cracking up at this little story that his brother had made and got money from that little story. The purpose of putting this in the book was because he was explaining who he is and what his family is like, so he put this in there so we can get to know him a little more.
Quote #2 page #7
“I got your note thanks alot”
In this quote the main character was talking to a teacher he had and he went to his house to say goodbye to him because he was going away for alittle while on vacation so the teacher gave him a note to come and stop by so that they could say goodbye to each other, I think the teacher wanted the student/main character to stop by at his house so that the teacher can talk to him about getting his life together so he Is not lost in the big world and he can support himself. I think the purpose of adding this in the book was because it probably really impacter the main character and made him think what he was gonna do to get his life together because he is very immature for his age and doesn’t really care about much.
Quote #3 page #19
“Ackley”
I choose this quote because Ackley is one of the main characters in the book because that is the main characters roommate and he explains to us how bad of a roommate he is and how disgusting he is as a person for example a little further in this chapter he talks about how this Ackley character is just cutting his nails right on the carpet of their dorm and he was asked to cut his nails over the table but he just ignores them and continued cutting his nails over the floor. So I chose this quote because like I said he is one of the main characters in the book and he probably has something to do with more instances coming up in the book
